One of my favourite bands, Molotov Jukebox, are an relentlessly fiery and explosive London six-piece with a totally original, wonderfully colourful sound and style. 2014 was a busy year for them with the release of their debut album CARNIVAL FLOWER and then the subsequent touring of the album around the UK and Europe and Latin America!
They are fronted in stunningly flamboyant style by the multi-talented singer, actress and fashion icon Natalia Tena (Harry Potter, Game of Thrones). Her provocative, sultry vocals and accordion slink across beautiful harmonies and brilliant pop hooks. This exotic sound is flanked with violins and trumpets and driven by a powerfully persuasive rhythm section which gets the crowd moving at every show!
Molotov Jukebox have become internationally reknowned for this unique style. Their wild appropriation of genres ranges from gypsy to swing, through latin soul and calypso to disco and dubstep. Their dedicated fanbase has affectionately dubbed it “GypStep”.
