Woodkid

Woodkid is the stage name of Yoann Lemoine, a French singer-songwriter. Starting off life in the music industry as a music video director and graphic designer for the likes of Katy Perry and Taylor Swift among others, he then let out his inner frustrated musician and pursued a music career on top of it all. On March 28 2011 he released his first EP ‘Iron’. Unbeknown to him at the time, this EP would shoot him in to the sitting rooms of millions around the world. He gained the publics attention as a result of the title track being used as the backing to the Assassins Creed: Revelations trailer. Within days people were trying to find out who this guy was, where he’d come from and what else he had out there! But he still had a long way to go. His second single ‘Run Boy Run’ followed his first in gracing a selection of adverts, including O2 and the BBC’s Musketeers. However this time the single gained even more recognition.

With his style described as neo-folk, Baroque pop and experimental, he has made a big impact really early on and really hope he continues to grow as an artist and carries on to put his individual personality into all his songs as he has done on ‘Iron’, ‘Run Boy Run’ and ‘The Golden Age’.

He is a really exciting artist that I would really love to see live one day. The videos of his live shows that I’ve seen all look incredible!
